Briefing:

Language technology has reached an advanced level of maturity today, where it is making mass impact on users of English and many Indian languages of the world on various aspects of the language use. Indian language technology can enable people to access information in their own language. NLP technologies are the key to connect billions of people around the globe to access and avail the facilities, provisions, learning resources, knowledge, and benefits of the internet from education to communication and many other applications that can be provided to the future generations in their language of conveniences.

This project propose a Machine Translation System to facilitate translation (text-to-text) from English to Hindi, Marathi, Konkani, Gujarati, Punjabi, Sindhi, Urdu, Kashmiri, Oriya, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Dogri languages and vice-versa covering various domains (Governance and Policy (Primary), Science and Technology, Education, Health, Agriculture) . It is a consortium mode project with 10 Institutes headed by CDAC Pune.
