Prof. Nayak’s research interests include (a) Pattern formation in excitable media and biological systems, (b) High-Performance-Computing (HPC) studies of mathematical models, (c) Nonlinear dynamical systems, and (d) Complex living systems. He has published over 10 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals. He is also review editorial board member of (1) Frontiers: Computational Physiology and Medicine, (2) Nonlinear Dynamics, (3) Journal of Mathematical Biology, and (4) Computational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine journals; these journals are well known peer reviewed open access journals. He teaches “Engineering Physics” and “Semiconductor Physics for Engineers” at BTech level, and “Computational Biophysics” and “Nonlinear Dynamics” at PhD level to those who are pursuing Doctoral programs under his supervision.

Prof. Satapathy teaches Chemistry to freshmen and material sciences and environmental engineering to sophomores. Her teaching interests are Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Materials science. Dr. Rupaj Kumar Nayak received his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from Utkal University, India, in 2008. He had held faculty positions at Department of Mathematics, International Institute of Information Technology, Bhubaneswar, India (2009-2012, and 2013 -Till date). He had held the position of Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2012-2013). He has a wide research experience in the various areas of optimization.  More specifically, his research has focused on optimization on the non-convex plane. The problems he studies may involve a single decision-maker.  The decisions may be expressed as either real or integer variables,and the requirements may be expressed as deterministic or random constraints. Using the methodologies, he uses optimization methods in the areas that have some real-life problems.

Prof. Nayak teaches Engineering Mathematics, Optimization in Engineering, Discrete Mathematics & Numerical Mathematics. His areas of interest include Optimization using Interior Point Method, Quadratic Programming, Semidefinite Programming Problem, Support Vector Machine&Multi Choice Programming Problem.He is a member of IACSIT.
